Fisher & Paykel launch one of the most comfortable and easy to use nasal pillows mask on the market, the Brevida CPAP Mask. If choosing the Brevida for the first time, we recommend choosing this Fit Pack as this includes both sizes. There is no sizing gauge available and this therefore avoids the risk of choosing the wrong size. However if you have used the Brevida previously and therefore know which size is best for you, then you can simply order that size here.

Description

Details

Fisher & Paykel launch their latest innovative nasal pillows CPAP mask, the Brevida. The Brevida is an evolution of the very popular Pilairo mask, designed with thorough patient research in mind. This mask not only provides comfort, but also encourages user compliance with confidence. Adjusting to CPAP therapy can be a challenge, so F&P have made the Brevida comfortable and easy to use to ensure that patients will feel confident about using their treatment daily and getting the therapy they require.

Introducing the Brevida Nasal Pillows Mask

The Brevida features an innovative AirPillow seal which inflates to form a soft ‘pillow’ of air, while firmly sealing in and around the nose. The Brevida mask has been made user-friendly with a simple to adjust headgear strap. With velcro adjustment points, the user can easily tighten or loosen the fit of the mask until it feels comfortable and secure. The adjustable headgear also ensures that your mask is kept firmly in place while you sleep to ensure you are getting the intended therapy desired.

For light sleepers, the Brevida Nasal Pillows CPAP mask really is a great solution. Housing a washable diffuser on the bridge of the nose, noise and air draft can be reduced. The durable diffuser can be washed easily ensuring maximum hygiene levels can be kept.

The Brevida mask incorporates VisiBlue highlights, which are subtle colour cues that enhance the user friendly design, helping the patient with daily mask use. Watch the video below to see just how easy it is to fit and clean your Brevida mask.

Mask-Fit Insurance

Mask Fit Insurance is available for this mask

If you are considering trying this mask for the first time, you can order in confidence using Mask Fit Insurance.

Mask Fit Insurance costs £14.99, and allows you to return this mask for a refund if unsuitable.

You have 28 days from the dispatch date to assess the mask and notify us that you are unhappy with it for any reason. You can return it and have it refunded (we must receive it back within 7 days of being notified).

The £14.99 fee for the insurance is non-refundable once the mask is opened, nor are any outgoing postage costs. The mask itself will be refunded in full.

A pre-paid returns label will be included for customers in the UK. We strongly recommend getting a proof of postge (which is free) as returns not received cannot be refunded. For overseas customers, the return postage will need to be arranged by the customer and this cannot be reimbursed.

Mask Fit Insurance must be ordered at the same time as the mask in question, and cannot be added retroactively. If purchasing more than one mask, all masks you wish to have insurance on must have it added individually.

F&P Brevida review

For a while now I've found nasal pillows the best way to get comfortable with CPAP therapy. I've tried many options from many manufactures and of them the Resmed P10 stood out for its simple headgear and the F&P Pilairo for its clever nasal cushion.

The problem with the Pilairo was the construction. The elastic headband was OK but sometimes unclipped, and the cushion came loose from the elbow regularly in then night, which at best was noisy and at worst stopped the airflow.

Brevida seems to be designed to address all these issues. It has a clip in cushion that is of similar design to the Pilairo, covering the end of the nose and with two soft cones that go inside the nostrils, and has a nice split headband with easy adjustment that can be worn as a single or a split band.

Venting is through a diffuser making it very quiet and not blasting your partner, but unlike the old Pilairo Q this diffuser is washable.

In use this is a remarkably comfortable mask, with an amazing seal as it inflates slightly inside the nostrils. The headgear keeps it in place extremely well all night and the whole assembly is small and light making sleeping in any position possible.

Users coming from another type of mask may want to alternate for a few nights as the mask touches the inside of the nose which is easily irritated but any irritation goes away after a few nights.

The parts disassemble easily for cleaning, headgear is clipped to the 'frame' and the cushion clips securely but easily on and off.

Overall this has now overtaken the P10 as my favourite mask, its silence and effectiveness are brilliant, and it's lightness and low profile make it easy to live with.

I switched from the Amara View to try this mask, even though I always woke up with my mouth open I thought I'd try a nasal pillow. I am getting lower AHI with this, the air goes directly to your nostrils, no leaks, and my mouth stays closed all night, no dry throat, sore teeth etc. Simple to take apart to clean. The straps are thin and prone to slipping, but you can rig something else up yourself if it would bother you, I ignore it and it has never come off during the night. The video on how to use this mask is very good.

a couple of years ago, i switched from a facemask to a nasal pillow - the ResMed P10 - to be exact. I preferred the nasal pillows overall, especially since I have an auto adjusting cpap. The P10's are great at first (I bought 2 over the years) but, like a lot of reviews mention, the straps get loose and the seal suffers. More importantly, I found that after time, exhalation became increasingly difficult. I'd have to exhale through my mouth in order to catch my breath on occasion, and no amount of cleaning the ultra fine mesh seemed to help. So, I decided to try these. They're better! The pillows are actually more comfortable and it's easier to tell right-side-up from upside-down in the dark. The tube has a rotating elbow. The straps are adjustable. And finally, the exhaust port is more substantial and has replaceable filters. All in all, this should be on your list ahead of the P10's if you have any of the concerns I've highlighted. Sweet dreams.

I've been using CPAP for two yrs. I had been using a full face mask but after two yrs of painful cheek bones and permanent face marks not to mention leaks and uncomfortable sleeps I searched for something else. I briefly tried the nasal mask which still covered my mouth as I'm a mouth breather but the nasal prongs hurt too much. I read up on this one and watched a YouTube video and decided I'd nothing to lose by trying. I also bought a chin strap. The first night was so peaceful, it's so quiet and I checked a few times to make sure it was switched on. I woke up feeling more refreshed in over a year. I have now been using for three weeks and I love it. The rubber is so soft and gentle and its leaves no marks as I don't have to pull it tight to stop leakS. The head strap is two thin straps which don't cause neck pain like the other head straps. They also have ridges on them which stops the straps slipping and loosening. I would say to anyone even mouth breathers give it a go. It's a breakthrough as far as I'm concerned.

Solves some of the problems of the Pilairo Q but creates new ones Review by Iain

This is my third nasal mask. The one immediately preceding this was the Pilairo Q. The Pilairo Q was an excellent and comfortable mask with one flaw: the nasal pillow is secured in place by stretching the opening of the pillow over the mouth of the air tube. After time this method of securing the pillow would work less and less with the pillow becoming dislodged on a note Myers of occasions during the night. When I saw the video for this product I thought my problems were answered. The pillow for the Brevida mask has a far more secure method of fixing.

This has proved to be the case in practice with the pillow being in place all night - no problem. Comfort is great and the mask as subtle as these thing get.

However, I find the spacing between the two pillows is not large enough (I did order the largest size). This results in one of the pillows being push into an inverted position i.e. Pointed into the mask instead of into the nose. This breaks the seal with result loss of pressure and hissing noise. There is not much visible difference from the Pilairo Q but I never has this problem with that mask.

In summary, it quite good but, like my previous two masks, still tends to require adjustment/readjustment in the night.

Easy on and off mask which is very comfortable and a great fit into the nostrils and is really good for anyone that is claustrophobic. No feeling of being smothered and its easy to move your head around with this mask on and get comfortable on the pillow.
Only one issue I have is the price of these masks as I would really like to have a spare one to call upon but the price is the only barrier. Is it worth the money? Well I need it so unfortunately that is were they have me because once I see something that will help me get a good nights sleep then I've just got to have it. Love the mask, don't love the price!

I found this mask to be much better than the full face mask, but I have not tried it yet when I have a head cold !

Intus comment: We recommend having a full face mask on standby for such an occasion, so best hang on to your old one.
